In a press briefing, newly elected DFA secretary Haji Zahir Shah emphasized that the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has successfully concluded elections in all districts, including Peshawar. Outcry Erupts After Harassment of Female Player at Peshawar Sports Complex

PESHAWAR: A disturbing incident at the Peshawar Sports Complex has sparked outrage after a female player was harassed by an outsider posing as a player. The administration's initial silence on the matter has only fueled public anger. Reports allege the attack occurred outside the table tennis hall. Despite being informed about the harassment and previous security concerns, the administration remained quiet until after the incident. Sources within the Sports Directorate claim this is not an isolated event and that the administration has a history of failing to respond to such issues. Adding insult to injury, the sole security officer stationed at the arena was reportedly absent at the time of the harassment. This lapse in security has caused significant mental stress and anxiety amongst other female athletes using the facility. The denial of any knowledge by Administrator Peshawar Sports Complex Jafar Shah further undermines public trust. Calls are mounting for a thorough

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate Faces Backlash for Favoring Coach's Wife

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate is embroiled in controversy surrounding the appointment of a female table tennis coach. The department recently dismissed a qualified and experienced coach, citing redundancy. However, reports suggest efforts are underway to appoint the wife of a male coach currently employed by the Directorate. This move has been met with public outrage, with accusations of nepotism and favoritism overshadowing the selection process. Critics point out that the favored candidate already holds a coaching position elsewhere, raising questions about her availability and commitment to the role. The dismissal of the previous coach, particularly without settling unpaid dues, is seen as a further injustice. The Directorate's justification of the wife's appointment based on her husband's presence within the department has only fueled criticism. Social media users are calling for transparency and a fair selection process that prioritize

Concerns Arise as Unlicensed Store Reopens in Shahi Bagh Ground, Peshawar

Peshawar – A previously shut unlicensed store has reopened its doors at the Shahi Bagh ground, now operating under the auspices of the provincial sports directorate. This development follows its earlier closure due to regulatory infractions, prompting renewed concerns about the legitimacy of its operations and the transparency of local management. The store offers a variety of food and beverages, serving both athletes and visitors at Shahi Bagh, Shah Tehmas, and Gymkhana grounds. This situation underscores the apparent inaction from the District Sports Officer (DSO) of Peshawar regarding this establishment. The fact that the shop has not undergone a proper auction process raises significant questions about management oversight and adherence to regulations.   #Peshawar #ShahiBagh #UnlicensedStore #SportsDirectorate #RegulatoryCompliance #AthleteSafety #CommunityConcerns 000000000000

Scandal Unveiled: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate Faces Allegations of Salary Fraud

In a startling revelation, employees of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate have submitted a application to Mr. Director General of NAB KP, highlighting egregious misconduct regarding the salaries of daily wage workers and coaches. Allegedly, funds meant for these employees have been misappropriated, with favored individuals receiving payments while deserving staff languish unpaid. The application, signed by numerous aggrieved employees, details a pattern of abuse where long-serving class four staff and coaches were summarily dismissed without notice by former DG Sports Khalid Mahmood. Subsequently, these positions were reportedly filled clandestinely, and salaries continued to be disbursed to unauthorized appointees. Key sports complexes such as Hayatabad, Abdul Wali Khan, Charsadda, Swabi, and Peshawar are implicated, where dedicated employees have gone unpaid despite promises of pending funds. Shockingly, discrepancies in salary payments reveal a stark disparity, wit

Provincial Sports Directorate Fumbles Table Tennis Training: Missing Machine and Ball Woes

The Provincial Sports Directorate's table tennis program seems to be in a bit of a pickle. One of the two recently acquired robot training machines has gone missing from the table tennis hall. To add insult to injury, the remaining machine is currently unusable due to a malfunction caused by... excessive hair? Further compounding the problem, the Directorate appears unable to provide balls for the multi-ball capacity training machine. Players, limited to bringing only two balls each, are left frustrated by the lack of proper equipment. The missing machine's whereabouts are unknown, while the remaining one sits idle, a testament to the Directorate's apparent shortcomings. This situation raises serious questions about the Directorate's commitment to providing its table tennis players with adequate training facilities. #kikxnow #tabletennis #sports #directorate #peshawar#pakist

VIPs Play Cricket on Closed Football Ground, Sparking Outrage Among Athletes

Peshawar ,  In a shocking display of disregard for athletes' needs, a video has surfaced online showing officials of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate playing cricket on a football ground that has been closed to players for the past two years. The incident has sparked outrage among the sports community, who are questioning the priorities of the Sports Directorate. The football ground and tartan track at the Peshawar Sports Complex were built at a cost of 55 crores rupees specifically for the use of athletes. However, despite being fully constructed, the football ground has been inaccessible to players for practice. The Sports Directorate claims that allowing players to use the ground would damage it, but this explanation has fallen on deaf ears. The recent video, which shows Sports Directorate officials playing cricket on the closed ground, has been widely shared on social media, drawing strong criticism from athletes and sports enthusiasts. Concerns Rise Over Qualification and Coaching Skills of Sports Lecturers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Colleges

In recent developments concerning sports promotion in government colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly Peshawar, there is growing concern about the qualifications and coaching abilities of sports lecturers. These lecturers, responsible for both academic instruction and sports coaching, are under scrutiny for their lack of updated sports knowledge and professionalism. A notable issue highlighted is the repetition of students across multiple sports teams in different colleges, especially in women's colleges, justified by claims that it aligns with cultural norms. This practice has drawn criticism, revealing systemic flaws in the recruitment and training of sports lecturers who often lack essential sports expertise. Moreover, a significant number of sports lecturers, particularly those handling martial arts and other specialized disciplines, are reported to lack the necessary skills for effective coaching. This has raised doubts about their capability to independently

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate's decision to open the Adil Khan swimming pool on the first day of Muharram, a public holiday, has sparked controversy. While the move aimed to generate revenue, it has raised concerns about safety and respect for religious holidays. The pool remained open despite the official holiday, with people from Peshawar and surrounding areas visiting for a swim.   However, most other offices within the Provincial Sports Directorate were closed. The pool administration charged an entrance fee of five rupees from all visitors. The policy has drawn criticism, with some questioning the presence of employees on duty for overtime pay on a religious holiday.   Additionally, concerns have been raised about past incidents of child drownings at the pool, raising safety questions. #MuharramSwim #PeshawarPool #SportsDirectorate

Galloping Injustice: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Horse Club Raises Eyebrows

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government's recent announcement of a new horse riding club project in Peshawar and DI Khan has sparked controversy. Critics point out the hefty price tag of 180 million rupees allocated for a project seemingly catering to the elite, while existing sports infrastructure struggles and young athletes face neglect. While the Chief Minister's fondness for equestrian pursuits is well-known, questions arise about potential conflicts of interest. Whispers abound of preferential treatment for friends now holding sway in the sports department. Peshawar already boasts a police riding club. Yet, with a significant portion of the province grappling with poverty, the rationale behind this project remains opaque. Meanwhile, aspiring athletes face hardships. Scholarship announcements are delayed, leaving 21 players in limbo. Allocation of funds raises further concerns. Critics suspect nepotism in potential hiring practices and project execution. Sports Funds Missing? Inquiry Committees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Go Silent

Sports circles in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expressing disappointment over the lack of progress in inquiries regarding missing funds. Another inquiry investigates the misuse of powers and funds by the former RSO of Dera Ismail Khan, directed by the Secretary Sports. Both inquiries have gone silent, raising concerns of a cover-up. Sports circles criticize this silence as contradictory to the government's claims of promoting sports and tackling misuse of public funds. They point out that those potentially involved seem to be getting promoted instead of facing consequences. #KPKSportsCorruption #CivilQuarterGrounds #DIKhanCorruption #MissingFundsInquiry

"Wildcard Woes: Unraveling the Misuse of Olympic Entries in Pakistani Sports Federations"

As the world prepares for the upcoming Olympic Games, Pakistan’s sports federations are once again under scrutiny for their controversial use of wildcard entries. Intended to promote inclusivity, the wildcard system has often been exploited, leading to accusations of favoritism, corruption, and political interference. The misuse of wildcards dates back to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics when Pakistan began leveraging these entries to gain representation in lesser-known sports. However, instead of fostering talent, the system has frequently sidelined deserving athletes in favor of those with connections. Despite sending around 50 athletes through wildcard entries since 1992, Pakistan’s Olympic performance has remained disappointing. Notable examples include swimmer Lianna Swan in the 2016 Rio Olympics and sprinter Liaqat Ali in the 2012 London Olympics. Both athletes faced significant challenges due to inadequate training facilities and support. Critics argue that the opaque selecti

Tragic Cricket Death Highlights DSO Policy Failures

Recent Tragic Cricket Incident Exposes DSO Oversight Failures in Enforcing 2018 Sports Policy In light of a recent cricket training tragedy in Bannu, serious questions have been raised about the oversight of District Sports Officers (DSOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Reports indicate a concerning lack of supervision, with DSOs failing to gather basic data on local clubs and academies as mandated by the sports policy. This lack of monitoring has led to a chaotic environment, potentially resulting in life-threatening incidents. The unfortunate incident is the second cricket-related fatality in a month, both stemming from training mishaps. While the 2018 provincial sports policy clearly outlines the role of DSOs in inspecting and managing sports facilities, a culture of negligence appears to shroud this crucial responsibility.   Despite recent efforts to recruit officers through proper channels, the situation remains dire, with allegations of inefficiency, inadequate record-keeping

"Scandals and Shenanigans: Corruption in KPK Sports Directorate Exposed!"

In the annals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Sports Directorate, tales of nepotism and favoritism under previous PTI regimes abound. Shockingly, even the provincial chief's hairdresser secured a position as security, hailing from Lahore and notorious for neglecting duties in favor of prolonged mobile phone use outside the boxing hall. When exposed, he was discreetly shuffled off the payroll to avoid further scandal, still drawing salary in absentia, fearing reprisal. Not to be outdone, political cronies within the assembly maneuvered their own, including a disabled relative appointed as a lifeguard despite inability to swim. Such appointments, steeped in political largesse, highlight a systemic disregard for meritocracy, perpetuating a culture where connections trump competence. With the advent of the Tehreek-e-Insaf government, hope flickered briefly as promises of reform echoed through the corridors. Yet, caretaker setups saw plots for sports complexes cancelled amid alleg

"Parents Concerned Over Pakistan's New Passport Policy Affecting Athletes Abroad"

Parents from various European countries are expressing concern over Pakistan's new government policy, which restricts issuing passports to individuals who have sought political asylum abroad. This policy impacts children who went overseas under the guise of participating in sports but then disappeared. Athletes from table tennis, squash, and tennis, who traveled to countries like the UK and the US, applied for political asylum while participating in different sports. Additionally, some journalists, who were given letters by various magazines for sports coverage, also vanished abroad under similar pretenses. These individuals fled due to Pakistan's poor economic conditions and now hold dual citizenship, often returning to Pakistan periodically. However, the new federal policy means these children will now need visas to return, facing the same restrictions as foreign citizens. This situation has caused significant mental stress for parents of these athletes, who are n

"Peshawar's Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium Falls Apart: A Tale of Neglect and Broken Promises"

Peshawar ,  In the heart of Peshawar, the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium stands as a symbol of both promise and neglect. Built just a year ago with an investment of twelve crore rupees and overseen by a Canadian contractor, the stadium was meant to be a beacon of hope for local sports enthusiasts. However, today it tells a different story. The stadium, once a pride of the city, now bears scars of neglect. The netting behind the goalposts has collapsed, the fountains sporadically malfunction, and the walls around the turf are crumbling. Even the sturdy goalposts show signs of wear and tear, their wood damaged and weathered. Shockingly, the glass in the players' section was shattered during construction and remains unrepaired—a poignant reminder of overlooked flaws. Despite these visible issues, the Provincial Sports Directorate's committee, led by Additional Director General Miss Rashida Ghaznavi, has raised concerns. Yet, the Pakistan Sports Board has remained eerily silent on
