PSB Peshawar and Sports Directorate Resolve Dispute, Volleyball Players Get Back in the Gym!
The week-long dispute between the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Peshawar Center and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate has finally been resolved. The PSB Peshawar Center agreed to open its gymnasium for volleyball players and reduce the fees by half.
Previously, the PSB Center had banned volleyball players and
demanded fee recovery from players in swimming, athletics, and archery. The
situation arose when the PSB officials weren't granted a meeting with the
Sports Directorate administrator.
Following discussions with the Director General (DG) of
Sports, a solution was reached. The PSB will allow volleyball players back in
the gym, and the Sports Directorate has assured cooperation.
The news remains unclear regarding fees collected by the
Provincial Sports Directorate coaches for volleyball training. These coaches
charge players 750 rupees each, but the amount received and distribution to the
PSB Center remain undisclosed.
Additionally, the PSB Peshawar Center faces neglect from the
Coaching Center Islamabad Headquarters. With only one acting official for
salary collection, the Center lacks proper responsibility and action.
This resolution allows volleyball players to continue training, but transparency regarding fees and Center management needs to be addressed.
