In recent developments concerning sports promotion in government colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly Peshawar, there is growing concern about the qualifications and coaching abilities of sports lecturers. These lecturers, responsible for both academic instruction and sports coaching, are under scrutiny for their lack of updated sports knowledge and professionalism.

A notable issue highlighted is the repetition of students across multiple sports teams in different colleges, especially in women's colleges, justified by claims that it aligns with cultural norms. This practice has drawn criticism, revealing systemic flaws in the recruitment and training of sports lecturers who often lack essential sports expertise.

Moreover, a significant number of sports lecturers, particularly those handling martial arts and other specialized disciplines, are reported to lack the necessary skills for effective coaching. This has raised doubts about their capability to independently train students, especially in gender-disparate coaching setups where female lecturers often rely on external support.

The need for practical, well-trained candidates in sports education is emphasized, urging government colleges to prioritize competence over recommendations in lecturer appointments. This shift is crucial for enhancing the quality of sports education and fostering comprehensive development among students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
