Scandal Unveiled: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate Faces Allegations of Salary Fraud
In a startling revelation, employees of the Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate have submitted a application to Mr. Director
General of NAB KP, highlighting egregious misconduct regarding the salaries of
daily wage workers and coaches. Allegedly, funds meant for these employees have
been misappropriated, with favored individuals receiving payments while
deserving staff languish unpaid.
The application, signed by numerous aggrieved employees,
details a pattern of abuse where long-serving class four staff and coaches were
summarily dismissed without notice by former DG Sports Khalid Mahmood.
Subsequently, these positions were reportedly filled clandestinely, and
salaries continued to be disbursed to unauthorized appointees.
Key sports complexes such as Hayatabad, Abdul Wali Khan,
Charsadda, Swabi, and Peshawar are implicated, where dedicated employees have
gone unpaid despite promises of pending funds. Shockingly, discrepancies in
salary payments reveal a stark disparity, with some receiving up to ten months'
salary while others have gone unpaid for months.
The application further alleges complicity from high-ranking
officials within the provincial sports complex, including the director
development and administrator, who purportedly approved budgets (PC One) and
subsequently favored their associates for payments. Additionally, there are
claims of nepotism, with individuals close to departmental senior officers
receiving salaries despite not fulfilling duties.
"We have no one to turn to in this government,"
lament the petitioners, citing millions in allocated funds intended for daily
wage salaries. They urge an immediate investigation into what they estimate to
be a multi-crore rupee discrepancy.
The application concludes with a plea for the Director General to intervene and uncover the truth behind these allegations of fraud, ensuring justice for the affected employees of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate.
