PDA Request to Reclaim Hayatabad Sports Complex Rejected by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has rejected a request by the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) to take back control of the Hayatabad Sports Complex. The complex, which includes facilities for cricket, badminton, table tennis, and more, underwent a recent 2 billion rupee renovation.

The PDA had requested the return of the complex two months ago. However, after consulting with the Sports Directorate, the Chief Minister directed that the Hayatabad Sports Complex remain under the management of the Provincial Sports Directorate.

This decision comes amidst concerns that the PDA may not prioritize the upkeep of the sports facilities. The Provincial Sports Directorate is already overseeing the Regi Lalma Grounds leased to them by the PDA, with plans to develop a gymnasium there.
