Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan - The Annual Development
Programme (ADP) 2024-25 for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is set to make significant
strides in the region's sports infrastructure. This ambitious plan includes a
blend of ongoing projects and new initiatives aimed at fostering sports
development and providing state-of-the-art facilities for athletes across the
province.
The ADP continues to support several critical projects
initiated in previous years, ensuring that the momentum for sports development
is sustained. Among these, the rehabilitation and construction of sports
facilities in various districts are noteworthy:
District South Waziristan: A major project for
rehabilitating and constructing sports facilities continues with an allocation
of PKR 96.403 million, enhancing the local sports environment.
District Mohmand: Another significant ongoing scheme
involves PKR 104.281 million dedicated to sports facility development.
Provision of Sports Facilities in Newly Merged Districts:
This scheme has an allocation of PKR 110 million, aiming to uplift sports
infrastructure in newly merged areas, fostering community engagement through
sports.
Establishment of Sports Academies: Newly merged districts
will see the establishment of sports academies, with PKR 83.68 million
earmarked for this purpose, to nurture young talent and provide professional
training grounds.
The ADP 2024-25 also introduces several new schemes to
further enhance the province's sports infrastructure:
Up-gradation of Peshawar Sports Complex (Qayyum Stadium):
With an investment of PKR 499.999 million, this project aims to modernize one
of the key sports facilities in the province, ensuring it meets international
standards.
Construction of Sports Complex at District Tank: A new
sports complex in District Tank, with a budget of PKR 100 million, is set to
provide modern facilities to local athletes, promoting sports at the grassroots
level.
Establishment of Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium in District
Buner: This project, costing PKR 144.974 million, will create a high-standard
indoor gymnasium, offering year-round training and competition opportunities
regardless of weather conditions.
Rehabilitation & Improvement of Grassy Ground Swat: With
an allocation of PKR 140 million, this project aims to revitalize the grassy
grounds in Swat, making them suitable for various sports activities.
The ADP 2024-25 for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa demonstrates a strong commitment to enhancing the sports infrastructure in the province.
