Security Officials Inspect Peshawar Sports Venues Ahead of SAF Games

Peshawar: Following the announcement by the Pakistan Olympic Association to hold two sports disciplines of the upcoming SAF Games in Peshawar, security officials have started inspecting the venues and reviewing arrangements for the international sporting event.

Sources said security officials visited the Pakistan Sports Board and Coaching Centre Peshawar on Monday and sought details from the administration regarding preparations for the upcoming competitions.

According to sources, the PSB Peshawar administration informed the officials that painting and renovation work had begun and preparations were underway to bring the facility up to the required standard for international-level competitions.

The two sports planned for Peshawar will be held at separate venues.

The judo competitions will be held at the Arena Hall of Peshawar Sports Complex, while the volleyball competitions will be held at the Pakistan Sports Board and Coaching Centre Peshawar.

Security officials also visited the Arena Hall at Peshawar Sports Complex to inspect security arrangements and assess the venue ahead of the judo competitions.

Sources said the officials reviewed arrangements relating to the movement of athletes and officials, entry and exit points and other security requirements associated with the event.

The SAF Games competitions are scheduled to be held next year, and preparations are currently underway at the designated sports venues in Peshawar.
