Peshawar Kabaddi Player Suffers Injury, Treatment Support Sought

Peshawar kabaddi player Safiullah was unable to continue playing after suffering a serious thigh muscle injury during the kabaddi match held at Peshawar Sports Complex on the night of August 13.

Safiullah had been performing well against Bannu before the injury forced him out of the match.

On August 14, he also did not participate in Peshawar's match against Sorezai at Shah Tahmas Football Ground due to the injury. According to Safiullah, his thigh muscle was torn, and a medical report indicated that his treatment could cost approximately Rs300,000.

During an individual meeting between the Sports Adviser and the players at Shah Tahmas Football Ground, Safiullah's condition was brought to the adviser's attention. He was informed that the player was injured and required medical treatment.

According to those present, the Sports Adviser asked why treatment had not been arranged through Rescue 1122. He was informed that the case did not fall under the scope of Rescue 1122 and that the player needed to be examined by a specialist doctor.

The Sports Adviser subsequently directed the Director General Sports to look into the matter. The DG Sports assured that the player would be provided support.

The key question now is whether practical medical and financial assistance will be provided to Safiullah so that he can receive the specialist treatment required for his injury.
