How many districts in KP are without a District Sports Officer?

A serious question is being raised about the posting of District Sports Officers (DSOs) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate.

How many districts across the province currently do not have a properly posted DSO, while some DSO officers appear to remain concentrated in Peshawar and Hayatabad Sports Complex?

At the same time, some Assistant DSOs are reportedly seeking opportunities to serve as DSOs, while the existing DSO officers were recruited through a formal examination process.

The key question is simple:

If several districts need DSO officers, why are some DSOs still restricted largely to headquarters, Peshawar and Hayatabad?

Is there a clear, transparent and merit-based policy for their postings?

The new Director General Sports and Secretary Sports should clarify:

• How many districts currently have no DSO?
• How many DSOs are currently posted at headquarters or in Peshawar?
• What are the administrative reasons for keeping these officers at headquarters?
• Are all DSOs performing field duties according to their job responsibilities?
• What is the plan to deploy DSOs to southern districts, Swat and other districts where these positions are vacant?
• Is there a transparent and uniform criteria for DSO postings?

The responsibility of a DSO is not simply to remain at headquarters or a sports complex. District-level supervision of sports activities, athletes, facilities and sporting programs is an important part of the position.

If districts are facing a shortage of DSO officers while available officers remain concentrated in Peshawar, the Sports Directorate should publicly explain the rationale behind these postings.

This is not about targeting individuals. It is about the system:
If districts need DSOs, why are they not being posted there?
