Additional Charges in KP Sports Directorate: Five-Year Record Sought

A five-year record has been sought from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate regarding employees performing duties against more than one post under Additional Charge, Current Charge and Acting Charge arrangements.

An application filed under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Right to Information Act, 2013, seeks a complete list of all officers and employees currently holding such charges in the Sports Directorate.

The requested information includes each employee’s substantive post, BPS, additional or acting post, date of assuming the charge, relevant notification or office order number, the authority that approved the charge, and the initial period for which the charge was granted.

The application also seeks details of all notifications and orders issued during the last five years regarding Additional Charge, Current Charge and Acting Charge, along with records of all extensions, including their duration and the authority that approved them.

The Sports Directorate has also been asked to provide the number of employees who have been performing additional or acting duties for more than three months, six months, one year, two years and three years.

Details of Additional Charge Allowance and other financial benefits paid to employees during the last five financial years have also been requested.

The RTI application further seeks details of vacant posts for which additional or acting charges have been assigned to other employees, including the date and reason for the vacancy and the date on which the charge was assigned.

Information has also been sought regarding posts that have remained vacant for more than one year and whether any recruitment, promotion, transfer or appointment process has been initiated to fill them on a permanent basis.

Another key question raised in the application is how many employees are simultaneously performing their regular duties while also carrying the Additional, Current or Acting Charge of another post.

The information has been requested electronically in PDF or searchable Excel format in line with the provincial government’s paperless governance policy.

The response from the Sports Directorate could provide a clearer picture of the duration of additional charges, repeated extensions, vacant posts and the financial costs associated with these arrangements.
