7th National Junior Karate Championship: Balochistan Clinch Overall Title, KP Finish Second

Peshawar: The 7th National Junior Karate Championship (Men and Women) concluded in Peshawar after three days of competitive action held from 7 to 9 June 2026, with Balochistan emerging as the overall champions, while host province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) secured second place.

Balochistan dominated the event with a strong medal haul of 3 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals, securing the top position in the overall team rankings. KP followed closely in second place with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals, while Punjab finished third with 1 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

Men’s Individual Event Results

The championship featured highly competitive bouts across different weight categories, showcasing emerging talent from across the country.

In the under-50 kg category, KP’s Yahya Khan claimed the gold medal with an impressive performance. Balochistan’s Arian Khan secured silver, while Punjab’s Abdul Hafeez and Sindh’s Hanzala took bronze medals.

In the under-55 kg category, Balochistan’s Owais Mengal clinched gold. Sindh’s Bilal Ali won silver, while Punjab’s Hashir and Islamabad’s Muhammad Saad earned bronze medals.

In the under-61 kg category, Balochistan continued its strong showing as Bilal secured gold. Punjab’s Taha Mustafa took silver, while KP’s Adil Sami and Islamabad’s Muhammad Abdullah won bronze medals.

In the under-68 kg category, Balochistan’s Ghulam Mustafa grabbed gold. Punjab’s Dawood earned silver, while Sindh’s Uzair Qureshi and KP’s Sudeis Afridi shared bronze medals.

In the over-68 kg heavyweight category, KP’s Abu Bakar delivered a powerful performance to win gold. Punjab’s Rehan Khan secured silver, while Islamabad’s Samiullah Bilal and Balochistan’s Izzatullah Khan took bronze medals.

Individual Kata Event

In the Individual Kata discipline, Punjab’s Abbas Ali displayed excellent technical precision to win the gold medal. KP’s Sartaj Gul secured silver, while Balochistan’s Misbah Ali claimed bronze.
