The District
Sports Office of Lower South Waziristan has emerged as a key driver of youth
engagement and cultural development during the financial year 2025–26, with
spending figures showing strong utilization of released funds under the Sports,
Youth Affairs, Culture & Museums department.
According to
the district’s DDO-wise financial summary, the office received a total budget
estimate of Rs. 4.38 million, while actual releases climbed to Rs.
5.64 million, reflecting increased government attention toward sports and
youth activities in the Newly Merged Areas.
Out of the
released amount, the department successfully utilized Rs. 5.50 million,
indicating an impressive expenditure rate and active implementation of planned
initiatives.
The largest
share of spending went to grants and subsidies, where Rs. 4.24
million was fully utilized. Officials say these funds supported local
sports events, youth programs, and community-level cultural activities aimed at
encouraging positive engagement among young people.
Operational
expenses also remained significant, with over Rs. 1.05 million spent on
administrative and field activities. Meanwhile, funds allocated for repairs and
maintenance helped improve sports-related facilities in the district.
A smaller
portion of the budget was used for acquiring physical assets, while no expenditure
was recorded under employee-related expenses during the period.
The
financial performance highlights the growing focus on promoting sports culture
and youth empowerment in Lower South Waziristan, an area increasingly looking
toward development through social and recreational opportunities.
