Slow Action by Sports Secretary Leads to Rs 500 Million Funds Returned

Peshawar: According to sources, the Finance Department has reclaimed Rs 500 million that had been allocated for various projects under the Engineering Wing of the Sports Directorate. These funds were meant for the completion of ongoing projects.

 

Sources say that the Finance Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had earlier instructed that the funds be released and the project details provided to the relevant department. However, due to the Sports Secretary’s delayed action, the funds were not utilized in time, leading the Finance Department to take the amount back.

 

Sources indicate that the lack of funds could delay several projects and is affecting the department’s overall performance. Immediate action by the relevant authorities is required to ensure that the projects are completed within the scheduled timeline.
