The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) recorded a total expenditure of Rs 30,036,000 on athlete training across nine sports during the period of July to December 2025, according to official data.

The spending shows a significant concentration in a few disciplines, with volleyball emerging as the highest-funded sport, receiving Rs 11.89 million, accounting for nearly 40% of the total budget.

Hockey followed as the second-largest recipient with Rs 5.44 million (18.1%), while kabaddi ranked third with Rs 3.64 million (12.1%). Athletics also received a substantial allocation of Rs 3.05 million (10.1%).

Mid-tier funding was distributed to taekwondo (Rs 2.08 million), ju-jitsu (Rs 1.74 million), and karate (Rs 1.45 million), collectively forming a moderate share of the total expenditure.

At the lower end of the spectrum, basketball (Rs 417,200) and alpine sports (Rs 334,400) received the smallest allocations, each accounting for just over one percent of the overall budget.

Overall, the data reflects a heavily skewed funding pattern, with the top three sports—volleyball, hockey, and kabaddi—absorbing approximately 70% of total training expenditure.
