Islamabad — The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has released its performance report for July–December 2025, highlighting significant developments in institutional reforms, financial management, sports infrastructure, international participation, and governance reforms across the national sports system.
According to the report, PSB’s non-development income stood at Rs. 1.240 billion, while total expenditure was Rs. 680.28 million, reflecting structured financial management. Under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), Rs. 247.42 million was utilized out of Rs. 412.94 million released, primarily for upgrading and developing sports infrastructure.
The Board also generated Rs. 42.86 million in revenue through facilities and allied services, with the Islamabad headquarters contributing the largest share.
On the development side, major projects include the establishment of a biomechanics laboratory, upgrading Liaquat Gymnasium with a modern HVAC system, construction of new coaching centres, and installation of modern electronic scoring systems.
PSB also introduced key policy reforms, including new regulations for sports funding, tenure limits for federation office bearers, and strict anti-age fraud measures for junior athletes. Several sports federations were also subjected to enforcement actions for non-compliance with governance rules.
Internationally, Pakistan participated in major events including the FIH Pro Hockey League, Asian Youth Games, Islamic Solidarity Games, and CIS Games, securing multiple medals and strengthening its global sports presence.
The report further highlights continued efforts in anti-doping compliance, athlete welfare, digital modernization, and institutional restructuring. However, challenges such as federation non-compliance, infrastructure land issues, and resource constraints remain areas of concern.
Overall, PSB emphasized its commitment to building a transparent, modern, and performance-driven sports ecosystem in Pakistan.
