The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has issued new rules to govern special
assignments and financial management in the sports sector, aiming to promote
transparency, accountability, and effective administration.
- The DG of PSB can invite or
nominate individuals, with their consent, to participate in national-level
events, meetings, committees, or other assignments of special
significance.
- Selected athletes, coaches, or
experts may receive allowances equivalent to officers in BPS-17 to
BPS-21 for the duration of the specific assignment. These include
travel, daily allowance, and airfare.
- Organizations receiving PSB
grants must maintain financial records transparently and follow
international best practices.
- All transactions must have at
least two authorized signatories, with cash transactions limited to PKR
25,000.
- Annual independent audits are
mandatory, and audited financial statements must be made publicly
available.
- PSB has the right to inspect
financial accounts at any time to ensure compliance.
- Misuse of funds or
non-compliance can result in suspension of future grants or legal action.
- Any unspent portion of a grant
must be returned to PSB within 30 days unless prior written approval is
obtained.
- PSB may amend or clarify these
rules at any time in the interest of sports, national representation, or
equity.
- All previous orders, directives,
and rules on these matters are repealed, but actions and grants under them
remain valid.
These
measures are designed to strengthen governance in sports, ensure proper use of
funds, and enhance national-level representation opportunities for athletes and
officials.
