A crucial meeting of the District Sports Association Bannu
was held today under the chairmanship of Muhammad Israr Bangash.
Representatives and presidents from various sports associations — including
hockey, football, cricket, volleyball, judo, boxing, karate, gymnastics,
martial arts, handball, target shooting, chuck ball, kabaddi, lawn tennis, and
athletics — attended the session.
The meeting focused on three main agenda points:
Addressing and resolving issues faced by different sports
disciplines.
Promoting the identity and recognition of the District
Sports Association Bannu.
Developing a comprehensive plan to resolve problems at Qazi
Mohib Ground, Boxing Ring, Badminton Courts, and the Sports Complex, and
ensuring responsible officials take necessary action.
Several key resolutions were passed during the meeting.
Members decided to formally request the Deputy Commissioner Bannu to ensure
that when funds are released for sports, complete documentation and
photographic evidence of the projects are mandatory. Any officer found involved
in misuse of funds will face strict disciplinary action, and the association
vowed to raise its voice on every platform.
The Association also announced that any contractor paying
bribes to officers or compromising on work quality will be reported and
challenged at all relevant forums. Similarly, any officer found depriving
players of their rightful opportunities will be held accountable.
Chairman Bangash urged all athletes to stay safe from
negative influences and assured that the District Sports Association Bannu
would stand by them against any injustice. The meeting concluded with a prayer.
