A significant meeting of the Bannu District Sports Association (DSA) was held today, chaired by Muhammad Israr Bangash, to discuss critical issues facing local sports and emphasize the need for transparency in funding.

The meeting saw the attendance of presidents, secretaries, and representatives from numerous sports associations, including Hockey, Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Judo, Boxing, Karate, Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Handball, Target, Chuck Ball, Kabaddi, Lawn Tennis, and Athletics.

The agenda focused on three key points:

  1. Deliberating on challenges faced by various sports and their potential solutions.
  2. Highlighting the identity and status of the Bannu District Sports Association.
  3. Developing a comprehensive plan to resolve issues concerning Qazi Muhib Ground, the Boxing Ring, Badminton Courts, and the Sports Complex.

Crucially, the participants unanimously passed several important resolutions aimed at preventing corruption and negligence in the allocation and utilization of sports funds.

The DSA decided to recommend to the Deputy Commissioner of Bannu that it must be mandatory to submit a complete file and photographs of the work done when releasing sports funds.

It was further agreed that if any officer fails to maintain transparency in the utilization of funds, a formal application will be filed for action against them.

Addressing the participants, Chairman Muhammad Israr Bangash stated, "Providing better facilities for Bannu's athletes is our priority. Sports fields are not just for recreation; they are centers for character building among youth. Therefore, there will be no compromise on transparency and accountability."

The attendees lauded the efforts of the District Sports Association and agreed on a unified strategy for the holistic development of all sports in the district.
