Peshawar: Serious irregularities and administrative failures
have come to light in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sports Directorate regarding
the use of official vehicles, fuel, and fleet cards.
According to sources, 21 vehicles are still missing, while
the inquiry process has remained stagnant on paper for several months.
Initially, an inquiry committee was formed to investigate the issue, but no
conclusive report has been produced so far.
Even more surprisingly, three different officers assigned to
supervise the inquiry have been replaced one after another, yet the case file
remains untouched. Sources claim that with “committee after committee” being
formed, the real issue has been buried, and no officer has submitted a concrete
report.
An RTI (Right to Information) request was filed on March 13,
2025, seeking details of the missing vehicles and fuel expenses. A reminder was
issued in May, but no response was received.
After months of silence, the concerned citizen has now
formally lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, demanding
a comprehensive inquiry and financial audit into the matter.
The complaint was submitted by a journalist from Peshawar,
highlighting the disappearance of official vehicles and ongoing negligence in
accountability within the KP Sports Directorate.
