A formal request for information has been submitted under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Right to Information Act, 2013, seeking details about the distribution, usage, fuel consumption, and deployment of Tourism Police motorbikes, particularly in Peshawar.

The application requests data on the total fuel consumed by Tourism Police motorcycles in each district over the past 12 months, along with a monthly breakdown of fuel usage per bike. It also asks for details of the total fuel budget allocated and the amount utilized during this period.

Information has been sought on the current number of Tourism Police personnel posted in key tourist districts, including Peshawar, Abbottabad (Galyat), Mansehra (Kaghan), Swat (Upper Swat), Chitral (Kalash), and Upper Dir (Kumrat). The request specifically asks for the names, designations, and daily duties of officers stationed in Peshawar.

The RTI also seeks details about the six motorcycles assigned to the Peshawar head office — their current locations, official usage over the past year, and whether they are actively deployed in the field, used for office purposes, or kept on standby.

The applicant has requested access to any logbooks or maintenance records related to these vehicles, along with any feasibility or analytical reports concerning the decision to station six motorcycles in Peshawar. It also inquires whether there are any future plans to transfer these motorcycles to other districts or tourist sites.

The requested information falls under the provincial government’s paperless policy and must be provided electronically in accordance with the RTI Act.
