Tangi Sports Ground Neglected: Electricity Down, Grass Cutter Broken, Millions Spent on "Others"

The only sports ground in Tehsil Tangi has been without electricity and basic facilities for several months. Despite repeated complaints, the concerned sports officer remains a silent spectator. Local players are facing difficulties due to lack of electricity, a broken grass cutter, and the absence of essential tools.

According to official budget documents: Electricity: PKR 625,000 was released and shown as fully utilized, yet the ground remains in darkness. Machinery & Equipment: PKR 75,000 spent, but the grass cutter is still out of order.

Maintenance of Gardens: PKR 25,000 reportedly spent, yet the grass remains uncut and hinders play.

“Others”: Shockingly, PKR 3.25 million was allocated and almost entirely spent, but players and the ground saw no benefit.

Local athletes say: "This ground is the only sports facility for youth, but it lacks even the basics. Authorities have turned a blind eye while the budget only exists on paper."

The situation highlights chronic mismanagement and misuse of funds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s sports sector. Without urgent accountability, grounds like Tangi will continue to decay, and young athletes will remain deprived of opportunities.

Govt urge open wedding halls in KP, owners

    PESHAWAR, (kikxNow) Representatives of Wedding Halls Association Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (WHA-KP) expressed their regret over still closure of wedding halls and demanded of the government to open halls. Speaking at a news press conference here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Tuesday, president of WHA Khalid Ayub said that livelihood of hundreds of thousands workers were associated those wedding halls but it depends of their running business of marriages in the concerned halls. He said that there were 120 registered and 170 unregistered wedding halls in the provincial metropolis (Peshawar) while in the province there approximately 600 marriage halls, which were closed for four months due to COVID-19.
