Charsadda: District Football Association Secretary Anwar Ali led a delegation to meet with the District Sports Officer (DSO) Charsadda to bring serious issues at Parang Sports Ground into focus. The delegation alleged that the ground was ostensibly earmarked for football as documented in government records and a stamped decree given a decade back by the provincial Sports Directorate. The ground was initially permitted for cricket usage for just twenty days, but other sporting activities have otherwise dominated the ground.

The ground caretaker has taken up several rooms even though he has been allotted only one, as per the delegation. Proper changing rooms are left out for players, but money is being taken without offering any facilities. Drinking water and basic infrastructure for players are absent.

The delegation also criticized that even though hosting such prominent events such as the All Pakistan Football Coaching Course and the Asfandyar Wali Khan Tournament, football is still overlooked. Coaches who are actually working hard to do their job are being overlooked, and the Football Association is said to be left out of the annual sports budget allocation.

The DSO guaranteed the delegation space would be made available for the coaching course, but there is still uncertainty regarding the future of the football calendar and how funds would be distributed.
