A Khyber Pakhtunkhwa citizen has filed a valuable information request to the Directorate of Sports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Right to Access to Information Act, 2013, for information on the illegal recruitment made under the 1000 Sports Facilities Project of an official named Hamza who was previously posted as an electrician and illegal appointments afterwards. The candidate has clearly mentioned a person who was initially hired as an electrician, and subsequently appointed as a storekeeper with no advertisement or qualification. The aspects on which details have been asked in the application are:

A copy of the advertisement published for recruitment

Academic qualification and professional experience of the candidate

Recruitment process, details of test or interview

Names and designations of the individuals appearing for the test/interview

Name and designation of the officer recommending

Reports of attendance and duty sheets (2022 to date)

? Questions related to appointment to the storekeeper post:

Was advertisement issued for the storekeeper post? Yes, if so, its photocopy

If no advertisement was issued, on whose authority the appointment has been made?

Description of qualification or experience of the appointed individual for this post

The petitioner believes that this individual is purportedly a close relative of a senior officer and not only lacks the qualification of an electrician but also does not possess the desired qualification for a storekeeper. Referring to this action as against the norms of merit and transparency, the citizen has stated that on sharing the information given above, he will lodge a complaint with the concerned forums and authorities so that nepotism, corruption, and fraud in government offices could be halted. Earlier, financial and administrative misconducts pertaining to sports schemes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been surfacing, and now through this new petition, another facet has been brought to light which needs an urgent open investigation.
