Mass Leadership Shift in Alpine Club Elections Supported by Pakistan Sports Board & Olympic Association
A landmark initiative to popularize adventure sports nationwide, fresh leadership has been elected without contest for the Alpine Club of Pakistan Federation as well as Alpine Association of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the behest of the Pakistan Sports Board and Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Maj. Gen. Irfan Arshad (Hilal-e-Imtiaz) has been elected
President of the central body with Najeeb Khattak as Vice President.
???? In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Advocate Mehr Sultana has been
elected Chairperson, Malik Hayat Afridi as Provincial President and Ahmed
Khattak as Provincial Press Secretary.
The election took place without any opposition, and all the
office-bearers were elected unopposed. The Pakistan Sports Board and the DG
Sports KP have sent official notifications.
???? The newly established cabinet has promised to develop
sports climbing, mountaineering, trekking, and hiking in all over Pakistan with
special emphasis on involving the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
"We are determined to develop an active outdoor sports
culture and empower young explorers, hikers, and climbers," the cabinet
stated in a joint press release.
