Dir Sports Complex was abuzz with activity recently as the 4th Peace Sports Festival closed, winning over the hearts of sports-loving children throughout the district. The closing ceremony's pièce de résistance was a nail-biting cricket showdown between Lawari Kings and Spartan Smashers. Following an enthralling and edge-of-the-seat match, Lawari Kings won the much-sought trophy.

The festival, which was inaugurated on July 1st, is a once-a-year district-level event. Its primary objective is to attract youth towards healthy pursuits and towards ensuring peace and brotherhood in the community. The festival this year witnessed the presence of more than 100 teams, all of whom competed with zeal showcasing their talents in different sports.

The variety of events that were showcased included cricket, Taekwondo, Wushu, boxing, and basketball and cricket games exclusively for special athletes. All the above events were conducted on the various grounds of the Dir Sports Complex. A huge audience of spectators attended the closing ceremony, encouraging the athletes with great zeal.

Guests of honor who attended the event were District Sports Officer Siddiqullah, Focal Person for Provincial Assembly PK-13 Sangeen Khan, and other political and social leaders. They awarded trophies and prizes to the winning teams and remarkable performers.

At the end of the festival, players and spectators equally expressed their thanks to the Chief Organizer and the District Sports Office. They highlighted that such events not only entertain youth but also act as important platforms for developing concealed talents.
