Peshawar (Special Correspondent) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate has been consistently refusing to release basic information about cricket coaches appointed under its supervision, despite multiple formal requests filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act over the past seven months.

According to internal sources and documents, several crucial questions remain unanswered:

Which individuals have completed certified coaching courses from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)?

Are the appointed individuals professional cricketers or coaches, or merely certificate holders with no real experience?

Who verified their coaching certificates, and through what process?

Have these individuals played cricket at any college or university level, or are they relatively unknown in the local cricketing circuit?

Observers believe that this secrecy raises serious questions about merit, transparency, and possible favoritism in the hiring process. There are concerns that some individuals may have been appointed based on connections and recommendations, rather than sporting merit or experience.

Experts warn that failure to ensure transparency and merit-based hiring in the sports sector will harm both the reputation of public institutions and the career prospects of deserving athletes.

There is growing public demand for a thorough investigation and full disclosure of records. It is being urged that the provincial government take immediate steps to make the recruitment process transparent and hold those responsible accountable.
