Quaid-e-Azam Interprovincial Games to be Held in Islamabad: Lack of Preparation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Quaid-e-Azam Interprovincial Games are set to take place in Islamabad, with all provinces, including Azad Kashmir, expected to participate. However, there has been no preparation for these games in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The sports associations have not yet initiated any training camps. Additionally, the athletic ground in Abbottabad has been under construction since 2022, and Qayyum Stadium remains closed for football players.
Similarly,
the athletics ground is completely non-operational, while various sports
associations are complaining about the lack of annual grants and funding.
Despite these issues, the provincial sports directorate has not paid any
attention to the matter. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's sports associations are still
waiting for a response from the sports directorate regarding funding and the
organization of training camps. The sports directorate has yet to announce any
budget, severely affecting the athletes' preparations.
These
circumstances are particularly concerning as the National Games are scheduled
to take place in Karachi in 2025, and the Quaid-e-Azam Games are crucial for
the athletes to gear up for this major event.
