No Money Spent on Events for Sports of Persons with Special Needs-KP Sports Directorate Report

 

 

Peshawar ,  The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sports directorate organized 34 games for persons with special needs at the Hayatabad sports complex.

 Some 420 players attended various games such as wheelchair cricket, standing cricket, visually impaired cricket, dwarf cricket, wheelchair badminton, standing badminton, wheelchair table tennis, standing table tennis, wheelchair racing, wheelchair discus throw, standing discus throw, wheelchair shot put, wheelchair archery, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, tug of war, musical chair, and many others according to a report of the Directorate.

The report revealed a total of PKR 116,450 spent on daily allowances of the athletes. Yet, no amount was allocated for associations by the Directorate for the events.

There were two registered organizations Friends of Paraplegics and Special Life Foundation who collaborated with the Sports Directorate on a voluntary basis in order to ensure the successful management of these events for the disabled.
