traditional Mokha Games Kick Off in Mardan

The ancient game of Mokha has returned to Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the start of a traditional sports competition organized by the Sports Department. The event was inaugurated by Additional Assistant Commissioner Ibn Amin and Deputy Director Operations Jamshed Baloch.

Eight veteran teams from Mardan district are participating in the week-long competition, which is taking place in Tehsil Katling Shamuzai. The teams include Babuzai Club, Shamuzai Club, Mian Khan, Sangao, Artona, and Chapalabad.

Deputy Director Operations Jamshed Baloch praised the efforts of DG Sports Abdul Nasir for reviving traditional sports in the province. He highlighted Momkha's popularity in Swabi, Mardan, and Buner.

The winners of the regional competitions will be invited to the Peshawar Horse Cattle Show and Horse and Cattle Show in Dera. The final of the Momkha event is scheduled for October 6, 2024, with Junior Fakhr Jahan as the special guest.

    The Mohmand Bajaur Aman Cycle Race, aimed at spreading the message of peace, is set to take place on November 17, 18, and 19.
