Provincial Sports Directorate Faces Backlash Over Delayed Hockey Turf Project

Peshawar ,  A sports infrastructure project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has hit a roadblock, with the Provincial Sports Directorate facing criticism for its handling of a delayed hockey turf installation.

The project, awarded to a local contractor in 2022, was initially slated for completion by May of that year. However, due to unexplained delays, the turfs in Abbottabad and Nowshera remain unfinished.

According to the contract, the contractor was obligated to pay a 10% penalty for each month of delay. This amounts to a significant sum, but the Directorate has yet to take action to recover the penalty.

Local sports enthusiasts and the public have expressed disappointment over the lack of progress and accountability. Many have taken to social media to voice their concerns, questioning the Directorate's oversight and the contractor's commitment to the project.

As the delay persists, calls for a thorough investigation into the matter are growing louder. The public demands transparency and accountability from the responsible authorities.
