Karki Archery Competition Thrills Lakki Marwat

The Provincial Sports Directorate recently hosted a thrilling Karki archery competition in lakki Marwat, a traditional sport deeply rooted in the region's heritage. The event attracted over a hundred local athletes from various areas, showcasing their skill and passion for this ancient pastime.

 

As part of the "Kehel hai Khyber Pakhtunkhwa" series, the competition offered cash prizes of 30,000 and 20,000 rupees to the top performers. The closing ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including ADC Lakki Marwat Kamran, Assistant Commissioner Lakki Marwat Islam, and the Deputy Director of Operations of the Provincial Sports Directorate.

Jamshed Baloch, the chief guest, commended the athletes for their exceptional performance and encouraged them to continue their pursuit of excellence. The local community expressed their appreciation for the Provincial Sports Directorate's efforts in promoting traditional sports and preserving cultural heritage.

Karki, a traditional form of archery, has been a beloved sport in Marwat, Dera, and surrounding regions for generations. The annual competitions attract a diverse range of participants, from young enthusiasts to seasoned veterans.
