Bannu Athletics Ground Faces Safety Concerns

The safety nets installed outside the athletics ground in Bannu have been completely cut, posing a serious risk to athletes and spectators. Despite repeated appeals to the District Sports Officer and local administration, the issue remains unaddressed. The dilapidated state of the ground has created difficulties for athletes and forced the community to adapt.

To accommodate the growing number of athletes and fans, approximately 10,000 people now watch football and athletics games daily in the limited space of the Banu Athletics Ground. The lack of proper safety measures and infrastructure highlights the urgent need for attention and action to ensure the well-being of those involved in sports activities in the region.

Cyclists hailing from all four provinces and Islamabad are gearing up for the three-day championship, with participation from various teams, including those from Pakistan Army, Higher Education Commission, WAPDA, and Railway.   The event, under the watchful eye of technical officials, boasts a distinguished lineup, featuring Colonel Retd Jahanzeb Niazi from Balochistan, Gul Muhammad Kakar from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nasir Khan Mohmand, and Amjad Nawaz Khan from WAPDA.
