Watchman Brutally Tortured for Preventing Kite Flying in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate

A shocking incident occurred at the Provincial Sports Directorate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, where a watchman was brutally tortured by players for preventing them from flying kites. The incident took place on [Date] evening when the watchman, named Atiq, intervened to stop the son of another sports directorate official from flying a kite.

The father of the child, enraged by the watchman's intervention, confronted him and escalated the situation. The players then subjected the watchman to a brutal assault, causing severe injuries.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, local police arrived at the scene. The Director General (DG) of Sports was also informed and immediately ordered an investigation into the matter. The injured watchman was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

However, in a surprising turn of events, the administrator of the sports directorate requested the local police to withdraw from the investigation, declaring it an internal matter. He stated that the directorate would handle the situation internally and resolve the issue without external interference.

Despite efforts to suppress the incident, the administrator confirmed that an inquiry committee had been formed to investigate the matter. However, he failed to provide any information about the committee's members or its terms of reference.

This incident sheds light on the growing culture of violence and indiscipline within the sports fraternity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It raises serious concerns about the safety and well-being of staff members at sports facilities.

It is imperative that a thorough and impartial investigation is conducted to bring those responsible for the watchman's torture to justice and ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future.
