Class IV Employee Demands Rs. 2 Lakh for Football Tournament, Sports Directorate Approves
In
a shocking revelation, a Class IV employee from Chitral has demanded a
staggering Rs. 2 lakh from the Provincial Sports Directorate to organize a
football tournament in his area. Despite the department's financial
constraints, which have hindered funding for established sports associations
and players, the directorate has approved the request and instructed
contractors to make the payment.
Sources
within the Sports Directorate revealed that the Class IV employee, whose father
is also posted in the department, submitted the application approximately two
months ago. The employee's demand has raised eyebrows as it comes at a time
when numerous sports associations, including the football association in
Chitral, are struggling to obtain adequate funding for their activities.
The
situation is further complicated by the fact that a Class IV official posted in
the office of the Director General of Sports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has his son
working as a consultant with the department. This nepotistic arrangement has
fueled concerns about potential conflicts of interest and undue influence.
The
Sports Directorate's decision to approve the Class IV employee's request has
sparked outrage among sports circles. Many argue that such payments are not
only unethical but also contribute to the department's financial woes. Critics
have called for a thorough investigation into the matter and demand
transparency in the allocation of funds.
