Tour de Peshawar Aims to Promote Cycling and Create Opportunities
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Cycling Association Chairman Nisar Ahmad has announced the upcoming Tour de
Peshawar, a unique cycling race set to take place next month. Expressing
concern about the prevalence of Chinese cycles among athletes in the region,
Ahmad highlighted the physical problems associated with these bikes.
In an effort to promote
racing cycles and their numerous benefits, Ahmad is actively working to attract
athletes from the China Cycling scene. He cited the example of a Peshawar
sportsman who, after transitioning to racing cycles, secured a well-paying job
and achieved a top-ten ranking within his department.
Ahmad emphasized the need
to educate the public about the drawbacks of Chinese cycles and encourage them
to embrace racing bikes. To facilitate this transition, the association offers
morning and evening classes and practical training to help athletes learn how
to use racing cycles effectively.
In addition to the Tour
de Peshawar, only racing cycle athletes will be eligible to participate in the
Track Championship scheduled for November. Ahmad's initiative aims to provide
new cyclists with the necessary equipment and support to ensure their physical
well-being and career advancement.
