Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate Faces Severe Staffing Shortage

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate is grappling with a critical shortage of staff, with approximately 150 vacant positions across various grades. This shortage is impacting the overall functioning of the department and hindering its ability to promote sports development in the province.

Key vacancies include assistant directors, account and budget officers, coaches, district sports officers, and clerical staff. The majority of these positions will be filled through a combination of promotions and new recruitments.

The most alarming shortage is in the junior coach category, with 58 vacant positions across the province. This lack of coaching staff is likely to have a significant impact on the development of young athletes.

The Sports Directorate is working to address these vacancies through the recruitment process, but the shortage is expected to persist for some time.
