Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Allocates PKR 411 Million for Sports and Youth Development

 

PESHAWAR – The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced the release of PKR 411 million in development funds under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2024-25 to enhance sports and youth facilities across the province. This substantial investment aims to promote physical activity and provide state-of-the-art facilities for the youth.

The funds will support a range of projects aimed at establishing new playgrounds, upgrading existing sports facilities, and constructing multipurpose sports complexes. The details of the funding allocation and specific projects are as follows:

1. Establishment of Playgrounds in KP

  • Total Cost: PKR 4725 million
  • Allocation: PKR 240 million
  • Released: PKR 14 million
  • Projects: Khanpur (Haripur), Tehsil Matta Swat, Nowshera, and Ghari Baloch.

2. Improvement of Existing Sports Facilities

  • Total Cost: PKR 850 million
  • Allocation: PKR 109.170 million
  • Released: PKR 3 million
  • Projects: Reconstruction and rehabilitation, including the Mira Khel sports ground.

3. Feasibility and Improvement of Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium

  • Total Cost: PKR 1946.150 million
  • Allocation: PKR 300 million
  • Released: PKR 10 million

4. Upgradation of Football Ground at Qayyum Stadium

  • Total Cost: PKR 541.129 million
  • Allocation: PKR 190 million
  • Released: PKR 34 million

5. Standardization of Sports Complexes

  • Total Cost: PKR 1434.327 million
  • Allocation: PKR 146.318 million
  • Released: PKR 44 million

6. Development of Various Playing Facilities

  • Total Cost: PKR 5500 million
  • Allocation: PKR 215.400 million
  • Released: PKR 76 million
  • Projects: Repair and rehabilitation of existing sports facilities.

7. Establishment of Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium in Buner

  • Total Cost: PKR 286.477 million
  • Allocation: PKR 144.974 million
  • Released: PKR 5 million

8. Upgradation of Hayatabad Sports Complex

  • Total Cost: PKR 993.068 million
  • Allocation: PKR 160.134 million
  • Released: PKR 40 million

9. Repair and Rehabilitation of Sports Facilities

  • Total Cost: PKR 500 million
  • Allocation: PKR 43.704 million
  • Released: PKR 43.704 million

10. Construction of Playgrounds at UCs Level - Total Cost: PKR 2956.086 million - Allocation: PKR 120 million - Released: PKR 20 million

11. Provision of Hockey Turf at Buner, Swabi, and Malakand - Total Cost: PKR 354.454 million - Allocation: PKR 48.887 million - Released: PKR 48.887 million

12. Youth Development Package - Total Cost: PKR 1967.109 million - Allocation: PKR 80 million - Released: PKR 33 million

13. Construction and Management of Youth Properties - Total Cost: PKR 243 million - Allocation: PKR 20 million - Released: PKR 2 million

The government has mandated that the allocated funds be utilized strictly according to the approved plans and in compliance with all formalities. The executing agencies are required to provide monthly updates on the progress of these projects to ensure transparency and accountability.

This initiative underscores the provincial government's commitment to fostering youth engagement and improving sports infrastructure, which is essential for the holistic development of the community.
