Govt Stonewalls on Mazullah Cricket Academy Details

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate has come under scrutiny for its failure to provide complete and timely information regarding the Moazullah Cricket Academy. Despite a Right to Information (RTI) request submitted on December 27, 2023, seeking details on player numbers, fee collection, equipment, and other crucial aspects, the directorate only partially complied with the request on August 5, 2024.

The provided information, which is outdated as it pertains to February 2024, is deemed insufficient as it omits critical details such as the list of players receiving free training, senior players, daily wage employees, and equipment distribution.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenge of enforcing the Right to Information Act in the province. The law, aimed at promoting transparency and accountability, appears to be consistently disregarded by government institutions.
