20-Wheeler Wrecks Cricket Academy Ground

 

Peshawar: A devastating incident took place at the Mazullah Khan Cricket Academy on Saturday when a 20-wheeler vehicle, bearing registration number GLTD1853, entered the academy grounds and caused extensive damage.

The government-run academy, under the supervision of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate, was left unattended by the management, allowing the truck unauthorized access. The vehicle's heavy load and incorrect entry point resulted in severe damage to the cricket pitch and surrounding area.

The incident comes after days of rain, which had already compromised the ground's condition. The academy's management has been criticized for negligence, as the damaged ground has prevented young cricketers from practicing.

Despite a significant allocation of 55 crore rupees for the academy's reconstruction, the authorities seem to have overlooked the recent damage.
