Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Under-21 Athletes Demand Restoration of Scholarships

Peshawar ,  More than half of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's under-21 athletes have been left without their promised scholarships and awards, according to a statement released by the players themselves. The provincial government had announced a program offering ten thousand rupees per month to qualifying teams, but the initiative stalled after partially distributing funds.

"The promises made should be fulfilled," the statement reads. "While some players have received their scholarships and awards, many others are still waiting."

The athletes are pleading with the Sports Advisor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to intervene and restore the scholarship program, which has been inactive for over two years. They point out that many rely on this financial support to continue their education.

The provincial sports directorate claims funds are unavailable, but the athletes remain unconvinced. Their statement urges the government to prioritize the program's continuation.
