Inter-Academy Sports Competitions Delayed in Merged Districts
Confusion Reigns as Competitions Postponed Despite Equipment Availability
Peshawar , The highly anticipated inter-academy sports
competitions organized by the Amalgamated Districts Sports Directorate have
been inexplicably delayed. While training camps concluded in Surupe, and sports
equipment was reportedly brought in for the event, the official competition
date remains unannounced.
Internal sources within the Sports
Directorate allege a lack of equipment as the cause for the postponement.
Apparently, essential player equipment is missing from the storeroom. An
investigation is underway to determine the cause of the disappearance.
Further complicating matters,
reports suggest potential irregularities in sports equipment management during
the transfer from the Provincial Sports Directorate a year ago. While an
initial investigation was conducted, it appears the issue was not fully
resolved.
The Director of the merged Districts
Sports Directorate, Raziullah Betni, remains optimistic. He is seeking the
Chief Minister's presence to boost athlete morale and is hopeful for a swift
release of funds in the new financial year. This would allow for the immediate
organization of the competitions.
In districts facing player
shortages, reports suggest the possibility of holding new trials to finalize
team selections.
Athletes and fans eagerly await
further developments. Keep an eye out for updates on the official competition
date and any announcements regarding potential re-trials.
