Public outcry over misused millions: Footsal ground in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa turns into swimming pool

Landi Kotal , After shocking videos and photos surfaced online, sports circles are fuming over the misuse of millions of rupees in public taxes. What was meant to be a footsal ground at Government High School Lindi Kotal now resembles a swimming pool, raising serious questions about accountability.

The viral footage shows stagnant water covering the entire ground, rendering it unusable for its intended purpose. This misuse of funds allocated for the "1000 Sports Facilities" project by the provincial sports directorate has sparked outrage.

Reports suggest that around five million rupees were invested in this project. However, the ground remains uninaugurated and in a deplorable state.

Sports associations have lamented the blatant disregard for proper planning and execution. They point out that the contractor not only failed to complete the ground but also ignored the lack of interest in football in the area.

Calls for action are growing louder, demanding the Provincial Advisor Sports and Secretary Sports to investigate the matter. Action is sought against those involved, including government officials who approved the project and the substandard contractor. A ban on the contractor has also been recommended to prevent similar incidents in the future.
