Adding a tragic dimension to the controversy are reports of accidents due to lack of proper equipment. A young female Judo player in Mardan and a hockey player in Balochistan reportedly lost their lives during talent hunt events.

The program's focus on "talent hunts" without a clear strategy for long-term development is another point of contention. Critics urge a shift towards building sustainable talent pipelines and ensuring these "discovered" talents receive proper training and support to become future champions.
