Syed Zahir Shah, President of KP Hockey Association, addressed journalists in Peshawar, outlining the following key points:

 

PHF Elections Scheduled for 2026: Shah confirmed that the Pakistan Hockey Federation elections will be held in 2026, adhering to the standard four-year term.

 

Focus on Upcoming Tournament: A team selection process for the Azlan Shah tournament is underway, led by Chief Selector DGPSB and representatives from the Pakistan Olympic Association.

 

Legally Elected Body Syed Zahir Shah emphasized that the 2022 elections were conducted legally under the supervision of former secretary Haider Hussain and Olympian Rahim Khan, with verification by the Election Commissioner. He dismissed claims of needing new elections.

 

Respectful Disagreements: Regarding a petition filed against him, Shah acknowledged the petitioner's right to disagree but highlighted their long-standing positive relationship.

 

Performance Matters: Selection for the national team will be based on performance at upcoming trials, ensuring fairness and opportunity.

 

Player Welfare: Shah prioritizes providing employment opportunities for Kp hockey players.
