Pakistan Claims Multiple Medals at South Asian Junior Badminton Championship

 

 

 

Pakistan's young shuttlers, particularly those from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, delivered a strong performance at the South Asian Junior Badminton Championship (SAJBC2024) held in Islamabad. The team secured a total of 1 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals, showcasing their talent and dedication.

 

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa players led the charge:

 

Fahad Ahmad bagged the gold medal in the Under-17 boys' doubles category.

In the Under-15 age group, Abdul Haseeb Khan clinched a silver medal in singles.

Ryan Khan secured double silver medals, one in the Under-15 boys' doubles and another in the Under-15 boys' singles (Barwans medal - likely a regional terminology).

Qari Muhammad Umar added a bronze to the tally with a third-place finish in the Under-17 mixed doubles (Barwans medal).

 

Teamwork and Coaching Make the Dream Work:

 

The success of the Pakistani team can be attributed to the combined efforts of the players, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association, the Directorate of Sports P Badminton, and coaches Hayatullah and Nadeem Khan. Their dedication and hard work helped these young athletes become champions.

 

The Championship:

 

The SAJBC2024 was organized by the Pakistan Badminton Federation and saw participation from countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, and Bhutan. It provided a platform for young badminton talent from South Asia to showcase their skills and compete at the regional level.
