Fake Letter Stalls Construction of Shangla Sports Complex

PESHAWAR - Controversy surrounds the construction of a sports complex in Shangla Lilonai as a letter authorizing the transfer of allocated funds to the sports directorate is found to be fake.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department exposed the forgery, highlighting a lack of communication with relevant officials like the Director General of Sports and the Director of Development.

Contradictory Orders and Missing Allocations:

The Shangla Sports Complex site was previously de-notified, raising concerns about the legality of the project.

Funds of 40.62 million rupees were initially allocated but later returned to the Shangla District Account Office due to the construction halt.

A fabricated letter then surfaced, claiming the funds should be redirected to the provincial sports directorate.

Authorities Remain Silent:

Attempts to reach officials from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate for clarification proved futile.

Uncertain Future for the Sports Complex:

The situation casts doubt on the project's future, leaving the allocated funds in limbo and the construction of the sports complex in Shangla Lilonai at a standstill.
