Preparations Complete for 16th National Assembly Reception, Budget Recommendations Finalized

Preparations for the welcoming of the 16th National Assembly are now finalized, with financial budget recommendations totaling one and a half billion rupees earmarked for the salaries and benefits of the newly elected members.

Included in the package of privileges for assembly members are 25 business class air tickets and traveling vouchers worth 3 lakhs, alongside blue passports for family members.

The financial breakdown allocates 41 crores 11 lakhs annually for member salaries, 13 crores for additional allowances, and 9 crores 60 lakhs for regular allowances. Moreover, 3 crores 40 lakhs are set aside for miscellaneous allowances, with 89 crores 5 lakhs designated for travel and transportation expenses.

Individual benefits for assembly members include a monthly basic salary of 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees, with an additional 38 thousand rupees in allowances. Members will also receive 10,000 rupees for telephone expenses and 8,000 rupees for office allowances, alongside 15,000 rupees as ad hoc relief and 5,000 rupees as additional allowance.

Attendance at meetings will further entitle members to Daily and Conveyance Allowance, with 4,800 rupees for special allowances, 2,800 rupees for general allowances, and 2,000 rupees for daily conveyance allowance.

For travel, assembly members will enjoy business class domestically and first class for international trips, with an additional household allowance of Rs 2,000 per day during official duties.

Furthermore, 3 lakh rupees in travel vouchers and 25 business class return tickets are provided, with every assembly member and their family members authorized to travel on official blue passports.

Additionally, upon assuming the chairmanship of a standing committee, an honorarium of Rs. [missing amount] will be awarded.
