Peshawar Sports Complex Partially Closed for Elections, Table Tennis Players Delayed, Football Grounds Unkempt

The excitement of sports activities at the Peshawar Sports Complex was partially dampened due to the ongoing election process. While some areas like the Muazullah Khan Cricket Academy and hockey grounds remained open, causing a surge in players, others were unavailable.

Table tennis players faced disappointment as their hall was temporarily occupied by the Election Commission’s equipment, delaying their practice by a day. Additionally, newly constructed football grounds became an eyesore due to piles of dirt and unused construction machinery left lying around.

This situation raises concerns about the proper utilization and maintenance of the sports complex, especially during important events like elections. It highlights the need for better coordination and planning to ensure that sporting activities are not unnecessarily disrupted.
