Coaches in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate face financial hardship due to unpaid salaries and uncertain employment status.

PESHAWAR: Daily wage coaches working in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate are facing immense financial difficulties due to unpaid salaries and a lack of clarity regarding their employment status. These coaches, many of whom are recent graduates, are struggling to make ends meet as they haven't received their salaries for several months.

Despite facing financial constraints and the looming holy month of Ramadan, these dedicated coaches continue to fulfill their duties, fearing repercussions if they speak out. They expressed their concerns about their ability to support their families during Ramadan without their salaries.

The situation arose following the dismissal of daily wage coaches in June 2023 under the previous directorate. While a PC for their reappointment was reportedly prepared and approved, no concrete action has been taken, leaving coaches in limbo.

This issue highlights the plight of many individuals who rely on daily wages for their livelihood. The silence from the concerned authorities regarding their situation is adding to their anxieties.

We urge the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate to address this issue promptly and ensure fair treatment for its dedicated coaches. They deserve timely payment of their salaries and clarity regarding their employment status.
