Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate in Hot Water Over "Work-from-Ex-Director's-Home" Policy
A controversial policy within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate has come under scrutiny, with reports revealing that at least two employees are working from the homes of former department officials. This practice, allegedly ongoing for years, has raised concerns about misuse of resources and lack of accountability.
According
to sources, an ex-Director General (DG) who joined another department in 2016,
took an employee along with him. Instead of reporting to the new organization,
the employee remains on the Sports Directorate payroll while performing duties
at the former DG's residence.
Similarly,
a class-four employee, permitted by the Sports Directorate to build a house
illegally behind the department hostel, is currently working at the house of
the recently transferred DG. This, despite being paid by the Provincial Sports
Directorate.
It
is important to note that DGs transferred to other departments retain
privileges within their new institutions. However, assigning Sports Directorate
employees to work for them raises questions about transparency and adherence to
departmental regulations.
The
continuation of this "work-from-ex-official's-home" policy has
sparked outrage and demands for accountability within the Provincial Sports
Directorate. Critics highlight the potential abuse of resources and question
the rationale behind allowing employees to work outside their designated
workplaces, especially for the benefit of individuals no longer affiliated with
the department.
